Activities List:
LEGO Models
Interested in LEGO and want to build your own 4MOST model? Now you can!
Below we provide the instructions and parts lists to construct your very own 4MOST model. The models were originally designed by Frans Snik (Leiden University) and later updated by Harry Addison (University of Surrey) with the help of Johan Richard (CRAL).
Dome and Telescope Model
This model features the VISTA dome structure along with the VISTA telescope housed inside. The model includes 4MOST hardware such as the cassegrain cable wrap, the three spectrographs, and fibre system. The dome and telescope model is made up of 1,315 individual LEGO pieces, including moving parts for the dome wind shield, dome rotation, and telescope mount. Although the instructions indicate the telescope submodel is placed inside the dome, we recommend displaying the telescope submodel outside of the model dome so that the model 4MOST hardware can be fully appreciated.

Telescope Model
This model features the VISTA telescope and 4MOST hardware such as the cassegrain cable wrap, the three spectrographs, and fibres. The telescope model is made up of 206 LEGO pieces, making it an ideal size for displaying on your desk or wherever you might want to show it off!
